Admission Procedure and Eligibility at ROOTS Matriculation Higher Secondary School

At ROOTS School, we strive to make the admission process straightforward and accessible to all families. Our goal is to ensure that students who join our school are given every opportunity to succeed in their educational journey. Below is a detailed outline of the admission procedure and the eligibility criteria, along with the documents required for admission.

Admission Procedure

  • Inquiry and Application Form: Parents or guardians interested in enrolling their children at ROOTS School can visit the school office or contact the admission desk to obtain the application form. The form is also available on the school’s website.
  • After filling out the application form, it should be submitted to the school office along with the required documents.
  • Eligibility Criteria :: Pre-KG: Children seeking admission to Pre-KG must be at least 2 years and 6 months old by the 31st of May in the academic year of admission.
  • Kindergarten (LKG and UKG): For LKG, the child must be 3 years and 6 months old by the 31st of May. For UKG, the child should have completed the previous academic year in LKG.
  • Primary Classes (Grade I to V): Admission to Grade I requires that the child be at least 5 years and 6 months old by the 31st of May. For higher classes, admission is based on the previous grade's completion.
  • Middle and Secondary Classes (Grade VI to X): Admission is granted based on the previous school’s academic records and performance. A transfer certificate from the previous school is mandatory.
  • Higher Secondary (Grade XI): Students seeking admission to Grade XI must have successfully completed Grade X and passed the relevant board examinations (SSLC/CBSE/ICSE).
  • Entrance Assessment (If Applicable): For admissions to higher grades (Grade VI and above), students may be required to appear for an entrance assessment in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. This assessment helps the school gauge the student’s academic readiness for the respective grade.
  • Interaction/Interview: After the application form submission and entrance assessment, parents and the student will be called for a brief interaction/interview with the Principal or Admission Officer. This interaction is designed to understand the student’s strengths, areas of interest, and readiness for school life.
  • Confirmation of Admission: Upon successful completion of the entrance assessment and interaction, parents will receive an admission offer. To confirm the admission, parents are required to pay the admission fee and submit the necessary documents within the stited time.
