General Rules and Regulations for Students and Parents at ROOTS

At ROOTS School, we believe that maintaining discipline and fostering a cooperative relationship between the school, students, and parents is essential for creating a successful learning environment. The following rules and regulations apply to both students and parents to ensure that the school functions smoothly, and students receive the best possible education.

General Rules and Regulations

For Students

  •  Punctuality: Students must arrive at school on time. Latecomers will not be allowed to attend the first session of the day without a valid reason.
  •  Attendance: A minimum of 90% attendance is required for students to be eligible for promotion to the next grade. Absences must be justified with a written note from the parent/guardian.
  •  Uniform: Students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform at all times, ensuring that it is clean and well-maintained. Any deviation from the uniform code will not be tolerated.
  •  Behavior: Respectful behavior towards teachers, staff, and fellow students is mandatory. Bullying, teasing, or harassment of any kind will result in disciplinary action.
  •  Use of Language: Students are expected to communicate in a polite and respectful manner. Foul language or inappropriate remarks will not be tolerated.
  •  Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and any inappropriate materials are strictly prohibited on school premises. If found, such items will be confiscated.
  •  Academic Integrity: Cheating in examinations or plagiarism in assignments will result in strict disciplinary measures, including possible suspension.
  •  Care for School Property: Students must respect and take care of all school property. Damaging school furniture, equipment, or any other infrastructure will result in penalties and the cost of repair will be charged.
  •  Classroom Discipline: Students must maintain discipline within the classroom and participate actively in all learning activities. Disruptions during class will not be tolerated.
  •  Participation in Co-curricular Activities: Students are encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, as these are essential for holistic development.
  •  Health and Hygiene: Maintaining personal hygiene is a must for all students. Regular health check-ups and adherence to health guidelines must be followed.
  • At ROOTS School, we believe that mutual respect and cooperation between students, parents, and the school are essential for a smooth and successful educational experience. By following these rules and regulations, we aim to create an environment that nurtures academic growth, moral development, and lifelong learning. We appreciate the active involvement of parents in reinforcing these values and working together to support the holistic development of our students.

For Parents

  •  Support School Policies: Parents are expected to fully support the school’s policies and ensure that their children comply with all school rules and regulations.
  •  Punctuality in Pick-up and Drop-off: Parents must ensure that students are dropped off and picked up on time. Late pick-ups can cause unnecessary inconvenience to school staff and should be avoided.
  • Communication with the School: Parents must maintain regular communication with the school. If there are any issues, concerns, or suggestions, parents should reach out to the class teacher or school administration in a respectful and timely manner.
  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Attendance at Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) is mandatory. These meetings provide important feedback on the student's progress and are a vital part of the student's overall development.
  • Health and Safety: Parents should inform the school immediately if their child is unwell or has any medical condition that needs special attention. This helps the school make appropriate accommodations for the child’s well-being.
  • Support Homework and Assignments: Parents should ensure that students complete their homework and assignments on time. Assistance and encouragement at home can greatly enhance the student’s academic progress.
  • Discipline and Behavior: Parents must instill values of discipline, respect, and responsibility in their children. They should support the school's disciplinary actions and work with the school to correct any behavioral issues.
  • Absenteeism: In case of absence due to illness or other reasons, parents must inform the school in advance and provide appropriate documentation if necessary.
  • School Fees: Parents must pay school fees on time to avoid any disruptions in their child’s education. Any concerns regarding fee payment should be communicated with the school’s administrative office.
  • Transportation: Parents must ensure that their children use the school’s transportation facilities responsibly. If any issues arise, they should be promptly reported to the transport coordinator.
  • Cooperation in Events and Activities: Parents are encouraged to participate in and support school events, activities, and programs. This fosters a strong community spirit and enriches the educational experience for the students.
